My Perspective

'I am a seasoned litigator with over 17 years of experience handling a variety of business-related disputes for a diverse group of clients, ranging from major financial institutions and corporations to small family owned businesses and individuals. While the cases I handle vary from complex financial disputes to more routine matters, I pride myself on bringing a solid understanding of law and business to every assignment. I understand that litigation almost always represents an option of last resort and more often than not presents a significant burden for the client. My approach is to be assertive, practical and results oriented, with careful attention paid to cost management. Some of my significant recent matters include:

  • successfully representing an oppressed minority shareholder in an action that resulted in recognizing the client’s ownership interest against claims of non-ownership;
  • representing national and local banks and lenders in numerous commercial and residential foreclosure matters and loan sales, recovering properties and judgments totaling multiple millions of dollars;
  • successfully representing an insured against its insurance broker and insurance carrier, resulting in a settlement securing $5,000,000 in coverage instead of the $50,000 policy limit originally asserted by the insurance carrier;
  • representing condominium owners in successfully compelling their condominium association to hold a new election of its board of directors.

During the course of my career handling a broad array of matters, including contract disputes, collection actions, mortgage foreclosures, workouts, shareholder and partnership disputes, restrictive covenant actions, insurance disputes and professional liability matters, I have learned that one of the most important skills of a good lawyer is to be able to understand a client’s objectives and then develop a legal strategy that is well suited to realize those objectives at a fair and reasonable cost.”
